Reiki Therapies on the Central Coast
In a Reiki treatment, energy flows from the practitioner’s hands into the client. The client is usually lying on a massage table but treatments can also be given while the client is seated or even standing.
The client remains fully clothed. The practitioner places hands on or near the clients body. These include positions around the head and shoulders, the stomach, and feet. Other, more specific positions may be used based on the clients needs. Each position is held for three to ten minutes depending on how much Reiki the client needs at each position.
Experiences during a Reiki treatment vary somewhat from person to person. However, feelings of deep relaxation are usually felt by all. In addition, many feel a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and surrounds them.
As the Reiki energy encourages you to let go of all tension, anxiety, fear or other negative feelings a state of peace and well-being is experienced. Some even drift off to sleep. At the end of the treatment, you usually feel refreshed with a more positive, balanced outlook.
Reiki Courses at the Umina Healing Studio
Anyone can be taught Reiki. Teachings are passed on directly from the master to the student via an unbroken lineage. After attunement the Reiki energy flows through the practitioner, via the heart chakra through hands, feet and major joint complexes to the recipient.
Reiki is not deliberately directed or manipulated by the practitioner. Reiki does not cure in itself, but enhances the vital energy (chi or prana) of the recipient which facilitates the body’s own self-healing process.
As practitioners we work in harmony with the Universal Life Force.
Reiki One – The first degree Reiki course teaches the basic theories and procedures involved in a Reiki treatment. A number of “attunements” are given to the student by the teacher. Students learn hand placement positions on the recipient’s body. Having completed the first degree course, Reiki practitioners can then treat themselves and others with Reiki.

Reiki Two – The second degree Reiki course teaches the student the use of a number of symbols that are said to enhance the strength and distance over which Reiki can be channeled. Another attunement is given, which is said to further increase the capacity for Reiki to flow through the student, as well as empowering the use of the symbols. Having completed the second level, the student can work without being physically present with the recipient — a practice known as “distant healing”.
– This course qualification will allow students to gain insurance and join the reiki association.
Reiki Three Master Training – This level involves the student assisting the teacher in classes as well as a commitment to becoming a healer and following a spiritual path.

Master Teacher Courses also available on application – Having completed the master teacher training the student can attune other people to Reiki and learn all the symbols to attune students in all three degrees.
