Grant was first introduced to Reiki in 2002 whilst holding a disabled child who was receiving a Reiki Treatment to help with insomnia and seizures.
As he was sitting there, the energy was being transferred from the healer to the child and could be felt very strongly by Grant. Feeling the heat and also feeling energized at the same time. Grant became keen to find out more about Reiki and this started him on a journey of researching Reiki and Energetic Healing.
In April 2005 Grant trained in Level One of the Usui System of Natural Healing. This is primarily for the purpose of self-healing and a great way to feel the energy first hand. After a time of practicing on himself and others, Grant decided to step up to Level Two. This is the level when he received some of the Sacred Symbols. These act as a key for the energy, but it is also in the intention that they are most effective.
Once becoming a Level Two Reiki practitioner, Grant was able to start up his practice working from a studio in Sydney and has been involved in many Reiki shares with other practitioners.
In May 2009 Grant went on to become a Reiki Master and Teacher. As part of this training Grant assisted his teacher Joan on several Reiki One and Reiki Two Attunements, learning how to run courses and Attune students to the Reiki Energy by way of the Symbols. He has also had the pleasure of teaching many new students and watching them grow spiritually.
Grant has been using both Meditation and Reiki daily since achieving his Reiki Two qualification. Good health and a general feeling of well-being are the direct result of regular practice.
Grant now has a healing studio in Umina on the NSW Central Coast.
